You have not thought of this! You are very wicked! (Oh, you are deeply sunk in the poison of worldly sense gratification!) You are overwhelmed by lust, anger, greed, illusion, madness, and so on! (Oh, you are under the sway of the enemy!) (2) asad-vārtā-bhukti-mukti-pipāsā–ākṛṣṭa (asat-kathā bhālo lāge he) pratiṣṭhāśā-kuṭināṭi-śaṭhatādi-piṣṭa (sarala to’ ho’le nā he) ghireche tomāre, bhāi, e sab ariṣṭa (e sab to’ śatru he) You are attracted by a thirst for hearing mundane news, enjoying material sense objects, and seeking liberation! (Oh, you think that nonsensical talk sounds very pleasant!) You have become crushed by the desire for fame, as well as by hypocrisy and crooked dealings! (Oh, you are not very simple or straightforward!) You are completely surrounded, dear brother, by all these inauspicious signs of death! (Oh, these are indeed your deadly enemies!) (3) e sab nā cheḍe’ kise pā‘be rādhā-kṛṣṇa (jatane chāḍo, chāḍo he) sādhu-saṅga vinā ār kothā tava iṣṭa (sādhu-saṅga koro, koro he) vaiṣṇava-caraṇe maja, ghucibe aniṣṭa (ek-bār bheve’ dekho he) If you do not give up all these things, then how will you attain Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa? (Oh, carefully abandon, just abandon them!) Other than the association of sādhus, where else is your real benefit to be found? (Oh, just keep the company, keep the company of saintly devotees!) Just immerse yourself in the lotus feet of a Vaiṣṇava, and all unwanted things will disappear! (Oh, just think about all of this for once and see for yourself!)
Dearest Gurudeva,
Please accept this dog’s whimpering, tail-wagging, pranams at your sweet scented pada-pankaja, even though this show of my loyalty is replete with the three duplicitous qualifications hidden under my “C.A.P.” namely, my Conditional, Artificial, Partial surrender.
With no will-power strong enough to defeat the ruthless power of my wicked mind, made even more wicked with the only kind of useless association … with kali-celas … you have left us with after your premature aprakata-lila, how is it possible for this most unfortunate, flea-infested kukura to remove that tight-fitting C.A.P.?
The first verse of your lilting song ‘bhavo-na, bhavo-na’ further endorses the futility of one’s ever being healed of one’s six-fold, mutually supporting, mutually energizing, diseases called ‘KKLMMM’ [aka ‘LAGIME’]* which are empowered, controlled and nourished by one’s worst enemy, the wicked mind.*[Kama-Krodha-etc = Lust-Anger-etc]
Thoroughly illusioned, one indulges in mano-dharma, confusing it for sanatan-dharma. Thoroughly deluded, one pretends to be humble, tolerant, respectful, etc, not towards everyone, but with crookedness, one picks and chooses, based on ‘who’s who’,
I am that most unfortunate sinful one, Gurudev, afflicted with all the other evils i indulge in as exposed by you in that song. I know too that by my own endeavour I’ll never reform. Without your sasana inflicted with your snigdha-enriched krpa, what hope is there, Gurudev, for this dog to continue my barking seva life after life of keeping your offenders at bay? I am not fit for any other seva except to protect you, Gurudev, and whatever is yours, even if you kick me hard. That painful touch of your foot will be the greatest reward i will cherish….
Your most degraded dog
